Star Wars set the bar for the most amazing special effects in movie history. Industrial Light and Magic, Lucas' effects company are the best in the business. ILM were the pioneers who brought us break through effects sequences in Jurassic Park, a film which has questionably the best photorealistic effects pre Avatar.
So for the new Star Wars movies of course we need awesome special effects but it would be nice to see some real sets instead of the blasted green screen back sets so commonly used. Yes I know it must be cheaper from a producers point of view but a real set goes a long way. If we take a Empire Strikes back for instance and the beginning scene on Hoth. When Han enters the Hoth base there are real set pieces, real people and of course a full size Millenium Falcon. The use of real sets and props instead of CGI still appeals more to us and creates realism. So Disney, please use real sets when you can as the original trilogy was successful using them and therefore it may be a good thing to see real amazing sets in the new movies.
